Basketball Recap: Woodlawn-B.R. Comes Up Short

Woodlawn-B.R. lost against Archbishop Shaw back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Woodlawn-B.R. Panthers lost to the Archbishop Shaw Eagles at home by a 69-50 margin. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while the Eagles are ranked second).

Despite the loss, Woodlawn-B.R. still got an impressive performance from Kelinee Stone, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. Stone is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games he's played. Kaleb Brandon was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Even though they lost, Woodlawn-B.R. smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Woodlawn-B.R.'s defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Archbishop Shaw, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-3.

Woodlawn-B.R. wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 78-53 victory against Franklinton on the 17th. Archbishop Shaw has also already played their next game (against McDonogh 35), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
