Softball Recap: St. Croix Falls Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

If St. Croix Falls was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Chetek-Weyerhaeuser on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Saints took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hayward Hurricanes on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Saints of the 2-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

St. Croix Falls saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emilee Glenna, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

St. Croix Falls' defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-9-1. As for Hayward, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Hayward beat St. Croix Falls by a score of 5-3 later that day.
