Baseball Game Preview: North Sevier Wolves vs. Milford Tigers

North Sevier is 2-7 against Milford since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The North Sevier Wolves will take on the Milford Tigers at 11:00 a.m. North Sevier has given up an average of 7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

In Friday's Canine Competition, North Sevier didn't have enough. They came up short against Gunnison Valley on Friday, falling 16-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Wolves were not able to get on the board.

North Sevier saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was James Crowley, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. Crowley has become a key player for North Sevier: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-2 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Milford's offense. They lost 8-0 to Delta on Friday. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Milford's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for North Sevier, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. North Sevier has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Milford struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

North Sevier might still be hurting after the 19-8 loss they got from Milford in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can North Sevier avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
