Football Game Preview: Dobie Longhorns vs. Alvin Yellowjackets

The Dobie Longhorns will challenge the Alvin Yellowjackets at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Alvin took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Dobie, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Dobie blew past Sam Rayburn, posting a 49-14 victory. The result was nothing new for the Longhorns, who have now won four matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Alvin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against Dawson, falling 42-7. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 648th, while the Eagles are ranked 129th).

The win got Dobie back to even at 4-4. As for Alvin, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Dobie strolled past Alvin in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a score of 49-34. Will the Longhorns repeat their success, or do the Yellowjackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
