Volleyball Recap: Yoakum Bulldogs vs. St. Joseph Flyers

Yoakum came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the St. Joseph Flyers, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Flyers: they've now lost three in a row.

Yoakum couldn't get the win, but they sure gave St. Joseph a tough time in the first set. The final score came out to 30-28, 25-15, 25-17.

St. Joseph can attribute much of their success to Abigail Brister, who had 12 digs and three assists. Claire Connally also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

Yoakum now has a losing record of 3-4. As for St. Joseph, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Yoakum is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Schulenburg at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for St. Joseph, they will take on Edna in a tournament on Thursday.
