Football Recap: Emanuel County Institute Bulldogs vs. Swainsboro Tigers
Emanuel County Institute was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a hard 27-12 fall against the Swainsboro Tigers. One positive for the Bulldogs, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Swainsboro got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Treasure Phillips out in front who rushed for 132 yards on only nine carries. Those 132 rushing yards gave Phillips a new career-high. Another rusher making a difference was Jalaya Freeman, who rushed for 100 yards.
Emanuel County Institute's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Swainsboro, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-7 record.
