Football Recap: Douglass Finds Playoff Glory Versus Gilmer + How To Watch

With a playoff win on the line, Douglass rose to the challenge on Friday. They managed a 19-15 win over the Gilmer Bobcats. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Astros' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Bobcats are ranked 221st).

The critical scores for Douglass came from Janarius Gooden, Keontae Webb, and Damarien Parrott. Jahlil Roderique also deserves some recognition as he passed for his first passing touchdowns of the season.

Douglass' victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Gilmer, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Coming up, Douglass will head out to take on Calhoun at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Astros will need to watch out since the Yellow Jackets have now posted at least 31 points in their last nine contests. Gilmer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
