Bailey Rogers' 85-yard kickoff return finishes off a wild, back-and-forth game that featured 103 points, prompting coach to say fans in stadium "didn't pay enough."

The Wren (Piedmont, S.C.) Hurricanes' 54-49 win at Seneca Friday had it all.

Back-and-forth scoring, 103 points, dramatic clutch play, a scintillating last-second kickoff return for touchdown and then the quote of the year.

After Bailey Rogers raced up the Seneca sideline 85 yards for the game-winning score, Wren coach Jeff Tate told greenvilleonline.com reporter David Hearns this:

"Whoever paid to get in tonight didn't pay enough. They should go back and pay double because they got more than they could ever imagine. ... Somehow we found a way."

Great stuff. But not any greater than the game.

Seneca looked like they had won the game 49-48 when it scored with 13 seconds left on a run. "It was unbelievable. When they scored with 13 seconds left it was heartbreaking," Tate said. "I was blown out of my mind when they kicked it deep. Bailey had a super return with great blocking and we snatched it. These kids never give up."

The run and blocking were indeed superb, but note the Wren bench as Rogers is scooting up the sideline. His teammates are bouncing up and down by the time he reached the 30.

Wren fought back from a two-touchdown deficit, scoring on a pair of scoring strikes by Kelly Bryant to Andruw Richardson to tie the game at 42. Wren stopped Seneca on downs at its own 25 and Bryant scored on a 10-yard run to go up 48-42 late in the fourth quarter before Seneca drove down to seemingly win the game.

But then it kicked to Bailey, who won it for Wren.
