Baseball Game Preview: Dunellen Destroyers vs. Roselle Park Panthers

The Dunellen Destroyers will head out to challenge the Roselle Park Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games Dunellen has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Wednesday, Dunellen needed a bit of extra time to put away Henry Hudson. They skirted past the Admirals 2-1.

Cole Mayer spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Mark Stein was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Roselle Park was not able to break out of their rough patch last Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 14-1 to Oratory Prep.

Dunellen's record now sits at 11-6. As for Roselle Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Dunellen might still be hurting after the 9-3 loss they got from Roselle Park in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Destroyers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
