Herscher found a leader in Reed Laird as the squad took down Hoopeston on Saturday. The Cornjerkers had no answer to Laird as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Laird has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Coming up, Herscher's homestand will continue as they prepare to take on Streator at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers have some work to do to even out the 2-7 series between these two since April of 2021, but a win here would be a good start.
