Football Recap: Vista del Lago Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Vista del Lago extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-7. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 35-34 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ponderosa Bruins. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bruins apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Jacoby More threw for 305 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt. Kyle Cromwell was his top target, picking up 161 receiving yards and four scores. On the ground, Jack Cromwell rushed for 70 yards.

As for Ponderosa, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.5 points over those games.

Ponderosa got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Zealand Jenks out in front who picked up 93 receiving yards and one TD, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. Jenks also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making three total tackles and defending one pass. Another passer making a difference was Colton Ridgley, who threw for 225 yards and a pair of TDs.

Vista del Lago didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 44-37 win against Bella Vista on the 30th. As for Ponderosa, they will square off against Inderkum at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
