Baseball Recap: Gaffney Takes a Loss

Gaffney's last matchup with Eastside could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Wednesday. Gaffney lost 10-4 to Eastside. The Indians' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Sam Smith made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage McDaniel, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Gaffney's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Eastside, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4.

While Gaffney had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
