Basketball Game Preview: Vanden Vikings vs. Sacramento Dragons

The Vanden Vikings will welcome the Sacramento Dragons at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Sacramento made easy work of River City and carried off a 75-53 victory. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 198th, while the Raiders are ranked 786th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sacramento is also on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points per game. As for Vanden, their win bumped their record up to 17-8.

Vanden won a game that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in January, slipping by Sacramento 59-58. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Sacramento's Shawn Underwood, who went 7 of 13 en route to 21 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds.
