Plum is a perfect 9-0 against Gateway since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Mustangs will host the Gators at 7:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Plum's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Gateway has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
On Tuesday, Plum didn't have quite enough to beat Franklin Regional and fell 5-4.

Christian Vagni was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Those two earned runs gave him a new career-low.
At the plate, Jon Saunders and Harris Otterman did some serious damage despite the final result: Saunders went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one triple, while Otterman went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Gateway's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Plum hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .338. It's a different story for Gateway, though, as they've only averaged .193. Will they be able to contain Plum's hitters?
Plum was able to grind out a solid victory over Gateway when the teams last played back in May of 2025, winning 6-1. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Gators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
