Basketball Recap: Long Island City Takes a Loss

Long Island City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Bayside Commodores, falling 58-32. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 664th, while the Commodores are ranked 62nd).

Long Island City's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Bayside, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Long Island City will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Metropolitan at 10:00 a.m. on February 1st. As for Bayside, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cardozo at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Bayside's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matches.
