Basketball Recap: Walden Grove Falls Despite Big Games from Israel Herrera Jr. and Mitchel Collins

Walden Grove suffered their closest loss since December 6, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Salpointe Catholic Lancers by a score of 63-61. The Red Wolves haven't had much luck with the Lancers recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Walden Grove had strong showings from Mitchel Collins, who posted 19 points, and Israel Herrera Jr., who earned 19 points. Those 19 points gave Herrera Jr. a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Imileo Martinez, who put up 12 points.

Walden Grove's loss dropped their record down to 16-14. As for Salpointe Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 14-9.
