Basketball Game Preview: Freedom Falcons vs. Amador Valley Dons

The Freedom Falcons will square off against the Amador Valley Dons at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Freedom is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest loss since November 22, 2024 two weeks ago. They fell just short of Las Lomas by a score of 65-62. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 736th, while the Knights are ranked 358th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Amador Valley). They enjoyed a cozy 81-63 victory over Kennedy on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Dons sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Freedom dropped their record down to 3-10 with the defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Amador Valley, their win bumped their record up to 12-2.

Freedom didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Amador Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 44-40 victory. Will Freedom repeat their success, or does Amador Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
