Baseball Recap: Papillion-Lavista Drops Season-High Score on Burke

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Papillion-LaVista). They came out on top against the Burke Bulldogs by a score of 12-7 on Monday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Easton Schneider was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Luke Bennett, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Papillion-LaVista always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Papillion-LaVista now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Burke, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Papillion-LaVista will venture away from home to square off against Millard North at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Millard North will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Papillion-LaVista surely won't give up without a fight. As for Burke, they will challenge Lincoln Northeast at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Burke's pitchers better be ready for this one: Lincoln Northeast has averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
