Basketball Recap: Port Allen Comes Up Short

Port Allen saw some tournament action on Thursday. They fell to the Westminster Academy Crusaders 70-65. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Pelicans came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Crusaders are ranked 209th).

Port Allen dropped their record down to 11-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Westminster Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.

Port Allen will challenge Jefferson RISE Charter at 1:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Port Allen is facing Jefferson RISE Charter at the right time seeing as Jefferson RISE Charter is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Westminster Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 62-56 defeat against Northwest on the 27th.
