Football Recap: Champlain Valley Union Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Champlain Valley Union and St. Johnsbury Academy squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Champlain Valley Union had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Hilltoppers, falling 56-21. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hilltoppers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 44-7 two weeks ago.

St. Johnsbury Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Owen Marcotte, who threw for 208 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Those 208 passing yards gave Marcotte a new career-high. Maddox McFarland was another key player, rushing for 84 yards and one score on only ten carries.

Champlain Valley Union's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-7. As for St. Johnsbury Academy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

As of now, neither Champlain Valley Union nor the Hilltoppers have any future games scheduled.
