Football Recap: Ossining Comes Up Short

Ossining played a tough game on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 43-7 loss at the hands of the Yonkers Force [Gorton/Roosevelt/Yonkers Montessori Academy/Yonkers] Force. The Pride were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-7.

PHILLIP VALLONE threw for 146 yards and one TD. DONTE COUCH was his top target, picking up 96 receiving yards. On the ground, KYLEN BRITO rushed for 31 yards.

Brendan Mulvilhill was nothing short of spectacular for Yonkers Force [Gorton/Roosevelt/Yonkers Montessori Academy/Yonkers]: he rushed for 102 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries, and also threw for 325 yards and two touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes. Tyshawn Lightfoot also helped out as he racked up 103 rushing yards.

Ossining's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Yonkers Force [Gorton/Roosevelt/Yonkers Montessori Academy/Yonkers], the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Ossining will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mount Vernon at 6:00 p.m. on October 3. As for Yonkers Force [Gorton/Roosevelt/Yonkers Montessori Academy/Yonkers], they will challenge Yonkers Brave [Saunders Trades & Tech/Lincoln/Riverside/Palisade Prep] at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
