Soccer Game Preview: Basha vs. Desert Mountain

The Basha Bears and the Desert Mountain Wolves will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Basha is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to six goals on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Desert Vista on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thunder.

Meanwhile, Desert Mountain faced Verrado in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Desert Mountain narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Verrado 3-2. The win was nothing new for Wolves as they're now sitting on three straight.

Desert Mountain's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those three contests. As for Basha, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Basha skirted past Desert Mountain 1-0 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Does Basha have another victory up their sleeve, or will Desert Mountain turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
