Softball Recap: Pike County Takes a Loss

Pike County and Opp squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Pike County had to settle for second. They came up short against the Bobcats, falling 6-0. The shutout was out of character for the Bulldogs seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

The loss snapped Pike County's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-16 record. As for Opp, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-16 record this season.

Opp wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Straughn on the 5th. Hopefully Pike County paid attention to the Bobcats' contest: the next time they hit the field , they'll take on the Bobcats at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
