Football Recap: Chula Vista Comes Up Short

Chula Vista extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-5. They took a blow against the Del Norte Nighthawks, falling 54-6. The matchup marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Isaiah Orta threw for 101 yards and one touchdown. Michael Marquez was his top target, picking up 98 receiving yards and one score.

As for Del Norte, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2. The game marked their most dominant victory of the season so far.

Kaden Williams was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 175 yards and four TDs while completing 79.2% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (138).

Chula Vista and Del Norte will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Spartans will face off against rival Mater Dei Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Del Norte is set to challenge their familiar foe Rancho Bernardo at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
