Baseball Recap: St. Rose Comes Up Short

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither St. Rose nor Point Pleasant Beach made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Purple Roses took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Garnet Gulls. The Purple Roses just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

St. Rose's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Point Pleasant Beach, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1.

Looking ahead, St. Rose is taking a road trip to take on Middletown North at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Point Pleasant Beach will be paying especially close attention to the Purple Roses' matchup: after the Purple Roses face off against the Lions, they'll take on Point Pleasant Beach again at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
