Basketball Recap: Concordia Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Concordia had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 54-45 win over the Doniphan-Trumbull Cardinals on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 51-38 back in January.

Doniphan-Trumbull's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ty Bennett, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 17 points. Parker Volk was another key player, putting up seven points and five steals.

The victory (which was Concordia's sixth in a row) raised their record to 23-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points over those games. As for Doniphan-Trumbull, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 19-7.

Concordia has already played their next matchup, a 53-39 defeat against Ashland-Greenwood on the 15th. As for Doniphan-Trumbull, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 60-51 loss against Lincoln Lutheran on the 15th.
