Basketball Game Preview: Times Squared Academy Eagles vs. Block Island

The Times Squared Academy Eagles will challenge Block Island at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Times Squared Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 69.9 points per game this season.

Times Squared Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They breezed by Providence Country Day to the tune of 84-41. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-17.

Times Squared Academy can attribute much of their success to Steven Garcia, who posted 21 points, and Justin Urey, who earned 20 points. Garcia is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Sam Feliz was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Meanwhile, Block Island was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 62-15 loss at the hands of Prout. The game marked Block Island's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Block Island's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Times Squared Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

Everything came up roses for Times Squared Academy against Block Island in their previous meeting back in December of 2019, as the team secured a 77-50 win. Will Times Squared Academy repeat their success, or does Block Island have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
