Softball Recap: Baker County Wildcats vs. West Nassau Warriors

If Baker County was feeling good off their 6-0 takedown of Fort White last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Baker County Wildcats suffered a rough 15-5 loss at the hands of the West Nassau Warriors on Tuesday. Baker County has not had much luck with West Nassau recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Haley Marker made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

Even though they lost, Baker County didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with eight strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Nassau only tossed four.

On West Nassau's side, Reese Green was incredible, going 4-for-4 with a home run, three runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Rosepiler, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Baker County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for West Nassau, they pushed their record up to 9-6 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.

Baker County will play host again on Thursday to welcome University Christian, where first pitch is scheduled at 6:00 p.m. University Christian will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for West Nassau, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Hilliard at 7:00 p.m. Hilliard is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
