Recap: Cheatham County Central Cubs vs. White House Blue Devils

The Cheatham County Central Cubs pushed their score all the way to 59 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 64-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of White House. While losing is never fun, Cheatham County Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 354th, while White House is ranked 112th).

Cheatham County Central lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sebastian Bryant, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of John Bumpus, who scored eight points along with five assists.

Cheatham County Central struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as White House pulled down 12 offensive rebounds.

White House found their leader in underclassman Louis Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 16 rebounds. Those 26 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Ryan Worrell, who scored 12 points along with six assists and three steals.

Cheatham County Central has been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for White House, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cheatham County Central will face off against Harpeth at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Harpeth is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for White House, they will head out on the road to face off against Greenbrier at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Greenbrier is on a three-game streak of home wins, White House a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
