Baseball Recap: Holy Family Academy Padres vs. A+ Charter School Maricopa

In what's become a running theme this season, Holy Family Academy gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. Everything went their way against the A+ Charter School Maricopa as the Holy Family Academy Padres made off with a 17-8 victory. The win was just what Holy Family Academy needed coming off of a 23-7 defeat in their prior matchup.

For A+ Charter School's part, Dominic A was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and eight unearned) runs off four hits. A was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stolen at least one in the last four games he's played.

In other batting news, Benjamin Behrens was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Bradyn Devore, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Even though they lost, A+ Charter School was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .593. That's the best batting average they've managed all season.

Holy Family Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for A+ Charter School, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holy Family Academy will take on Ajo at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for A+ Charter School, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against AZ Compass Prep National at 4:30 p.m.
