Football Recap: Brooks Comes Up Short

Brooks extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were beaten by the Payton College Prep Grizzlies 48-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 31-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

As for Payton College Prep, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. That 42 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Payton College Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Thomas Fitchett, who threw for 195 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes. Fitchett didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made two total tackles (1.0 for loss). Samuel Merrill helped Fitchett out on the ground, rushing for 114 yards and one score on only 13 carries.
