Emerson had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Strong Bulldogs, posting a 72-25 win. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matches by 23 points or more this season.

The victory was the sixth in a row for Emerson, bringing their record for this year to 25-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.7 points over those games. As for Strong, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season.

Coming up, Emerson will face off against Lafayette County at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Emerson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Lafayette County likes a good challenge. Strong does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
