Baseball Recap: Baldwin Park Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

Baldwin Park won the last time they faced Azusa and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Braves were the clear victors by a 17-7 margin over the Aztecs. Considering the Braves have won nine matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Luis Carranza made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. Carranza was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other pitching news, Isaac Gonzalez looked comfortable as he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Julian Huerta, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Thomas Beltran was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Baldwin Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .619. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Azusa only posted an OBP of .310.

Baldwin Park has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Azusa, they moved to 10-10 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Baldwin Park nor the Aztecs have any future games scheduled.
