Basketball Recap: Galt Falls Despite Big Games from Anthony Arriaga -Rose and Carson Cagle

Galt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 73-47 to the Johnson Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Galt of the 75-45 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Carson Cagle and Anthony Arriaga -Rose certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Cagle dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards, while Arriaga -Rose went 7 of 17 on his way to 21 points and five rebounds.

Johnson's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Javion Williams, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ami Cueto, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 10 points in addition to six boards and five steals.

Galt's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Johnson, their record now sits at 6-3.

Galt wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 63-61 victory against Rio Linda on the 17th. As for Johnson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 76-56 loss against Elite on the 21st.
