Softball Recap: Preston Comes Up Short

Preston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 11-6 to the Washington Patriots.

Preston saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rhylinn Sanders, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Another was Josie Higginbottom, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.

Preston's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Washington, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-4 record.

Coming up, Preston will be playing in front of their home fans against Robert C. Byrd at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Washington, they will square off against Morgantown at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Mohigans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
