Volleyball Recap: Esteban Torres Key Part of Team Effort in Knights Win

After losing to Liberty Charter the last time they met, Victory Christian Academy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Knights walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Lions on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Victory Christian Academy was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-16, 19-25, 25-18.

Victory Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Esteban Torres, who had six digs and five aces. Torres has been hot for a while, having also posted 12 or more assists the last 12 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Austin Dill, who had 19 kills, four digs, three aces, and two blocks.

Torres wasn't the only good server: Victory Christian Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in nine consecutive games.

Victory Christian Academy's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-5. As for Liberty Charter, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
