The Alamo Heights Mules will venture away from home to square off against the Tivy Antlers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tivy took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Alamo Heights, who comes in off a win.
Alamo Heights is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Wagner on Tuesday as Alamo Heights made off with an 18-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mules.
Brooke Butler made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Alamo Heights let Kaylee Ledger and Elle Leavitt run wild. Ledger scored three runs while going 3-for-3, while Leavitt scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Those three hits gave Ledger a new career-high. Ava Medina also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Alamo Heights kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 12.6.
Meanwhile, Tivy fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Boerne-Champion on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers. Surprisingly, this marked the sixth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.
Kyra Wheatfall was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Brenna Davila, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
Alamo Heights picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 4-10. As for Tivy, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-9.
Alamo Heights skirted past Tivy 2-1 when the teams last played back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alamo Heights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
