Volleyball Recap: Redfield Comes Up Short

Redfield lost against Miller back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Pheasants came up short against the Rustlers, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Pheasants have suffered since November 5, 2024.

Redfield took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-13, 25-14.

Their offense was headlined by Hayden Gall and Ceci Suchor, who picked up three kills apiece. Gall also shared the team's lead in assists with Layla Hardie: they picked up two each. Finally, Kinley Smith kept Redfield's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Redfield's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Miller, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

The future could be bright for both Redfield and Miller: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Pheasants will try to hand Milbank their fifth-straight loss when the two meet at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Miller will look to extend Chamberlain's four-game losing streak when they meet at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
