Basketball Preview: Parkview Vikings vs. Central Bulldogs
Parkview is on a four-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), the Bulldogs a 15-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Parkview Vikings will take on the Central Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 88-40, which was the final score in Parkview's tilt against the Lakers on Thursday. Parkview was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-24.
The losing side was boosted by Brooklynn Masten, who scored 17 points along with four steals. That was a full 42.5% of Parkview's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Rachel Leeveille was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
While Central couldn't quite beat the Wildcats on Tuesday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 48-point defeat they were dealt on Monday. Central fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 46-44.
Parkview's defeat dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-14.
Parkview took their win against the Bulldogs when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 59-35. Does Parkview have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
