Basketball Recap: Superior's Run of Six Straight Victories Now Over

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Superior can now relate to. They fell 45-36 to the Alma Cardinals on Wednesday. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cardinals earlier this season, when they won 53-34.

Tierston Moore was her usual excellent self, shooting 70% from the field to rack up 16 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals for Alma. Moore is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Chayse Molzahn, who posted seven points along with six boards and four blocks.

Superior moved to 21-5 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.7 points. As for Alma, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.

Superior does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Alma, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 53-40 loss against Pender on the 7th.
