Cedar Hill (Texas) overcame a huge performance by Mansfield (Texas) running back Kennedy Brooks to rally for a come-from-behind 42-41 victory Friday and avoid an 0-2 start.

Ranked No. 12 in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 National High School Football Rankings presented by the Army National Guard, Cedar Hill found itself trailing 41-21 late in the third quarter following Brooks' fifth touchdown of the night.

But Cedar Hill rallied with a pair of Marquise Forman touchdowns in the final four minutes, including one from 55 yards out, to tie the game at 41. Foreman scored the game-tying touchdown on fourth down from the 2-yard line with four seconds left.

Maverick Montiel booted the crucial extra point to give Cedar Hill the win.

Mansfield has proven to be a stumbling block for Cedar Hill the past two seasons. Mansfield won 46-43 last year and defeated Cedar Hill 49-34 in 2014.

Foreman finished the game with three touchdown runs while Garret McGuire threw a pair of touchdown passes to Charleston Rambo.

Cedar Hill opened its season last week with a 44-14 loss to Bishop Gorman. Mansfield (1-1) opened last week with a 28-10 win over Mansfield Summit.
