Baseball Recap: St. Paul Comes Up Short

St. Paul has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.56 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They lost 17-7 to the Cajon Cowboys. The Swordsmen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Elias Mota made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run. Logan Noh was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

St. Paul's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Cajon, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-3.

St. Paul and Cajon should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Swordsmen (ranked 112th) will meet Paraclete (ranked 279th) at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Cajon will face off against Beaumont at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (56 vs. 696).
