Football Recap: Corcoran Comes Up Short

Corcoran managed to slip by Woodlake the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Panthers were dealt a 63-6 defeat at the hands of the Tigers on Friday. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Aldo Rodriguez produced another solid performance throwing for 285 yards and five TDs while completing 76.7% of his passes, and also rushing for 59 yards and one score on only five carries for Woodlake. The dominant performance also gave Rodriguez a new career-high in passer rating (145.1). Another player making a difference was Jose Rodriguez, who gained 70 total yards and two touchdowns.

Corcoran is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4. As for Woodlake, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Corcoran will face off against Lindsay at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Woodlake, they will take on Orange Cove at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Titans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 43.6 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
