Volleyball Recap: Washington Takes a Loss

Washington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Camelback Spartans. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Washington started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 13-25, 25-17, 25-23, 27-25.

Yalitza Sanchez was the offensive standout of the match as she had nine digs and one assist.

Washington's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Camelback, their win bumped their record up to 3-12.

Coming up, Washington will take on Sierra Linda at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight. As for Camelback, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Browne on the 21st.
