Softball Game Preview: Riverview Sarasota Rams vs. Clearwater Tornadoes

The Riverview Sarasota Rams will venture away from home to square off against the Clearwater Tornadoes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverview Sarasota is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Riverview Sarasota barely beat Braden River the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Everything went Riverview Sarasota's way against Braden River on Monday as Riverview Sarasota made off with a 17-2 win. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Isabelle Bain was a standout: she fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sierra Lipton, who scored four runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, Clearwater narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Inspiration Academy 4-3.

Madison Jost spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Clearwater's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kabella Corning, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Juleah Patterson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Clearwater hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Inspiration Academy struck out seven times.

Riverview Sarasota's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0. As for Clearwater, their record is now 6-3.
