Baseball Recap: Wesleyan Christian Academy Comes Up Short at Home Against Hueytown

Wesleyan Christian Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Hueytown Golden Gophers by a score of 7-5 on Thursday. Wesleyan Christian Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josh Hammond, who fired off two home runs and one stolen base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave Hammond a new career-high in home runs.

Hueytown's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-4.
