After each having a week off, Cornerstone Christian and Mt. Zion Prep Academy will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cornerstone Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 29.3 points per game this season.

Cornerstone Christian is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Washington last Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Warriors lost 45-21 to the Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 253rd in Texas, while the Tigers are ranked 15th in Ohio).

Despite their defeat, Cornerstone Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jaylen McKane, who rushed for 48 yards and one TD, and also picked up 76 receiving yards, was perhaps the best of all.

Meanwhile, Mt. Zion Prep Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Friendship Collegiate Academy.

Cornerstone Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Mt. Zion Prep Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Friday's game might be decided in the trenches. Cornerstone Christian has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 171.6 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Mt. Zion Prep Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 59.4 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
