Football Recap: Faith Christian Comes Up Short

Faith Christian extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-2. They were beaten by The Master's Academy Eagles 49-14. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 33-15 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2021.

As for The Master's Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.0 points over those games.

Leading The Master's Academy to victory were Evan Slockett and Ashton Bosco. Slockett gained 127 total yards and two touchdowns, while Bosco threw for 116 yards and four touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Slockett a new career-high in rushing yards (101). Kevin Ishmael III got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Looking ahead, Faith Christian will face off against West Oaks Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for The Master's Academy, they will square off against Geneva at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
