Baseball Game Preview: Stone Memorial Panthers vs. Livingston Academy Wildcats

For the second straight game, Stone Memorial will face off against Livingston Academy. The Panthers will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. Stone Memorial will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Stone Memorial's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over Livingston Academy. The one-run effort marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Not much got past Titus Bisbee, who gave up just five hits to keep Livingston Academy off the board. Bisbee also tossed two walks, which is notable because Stone Memorial is 3-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 3-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Stone Memorial saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Talyn Hurd, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Hurd has posted since back in May of 2024. Kyle Hinch also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Stone Memorial's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Livingston Academy, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
