It's playoff time, and Hermleigh had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out the Eula Pirates 6-5 on Saturday. This was a revenge game for the Cardinals: when they faced off against the Pirates on Friday, they had to take a 6-4 defeat.

Peyton Miller spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hermleigh let Hailey Minton and Dejah Richardson run wild. Minton went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run, while Richardson went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most hits Minton has posted since back in March. Syreah Callaway was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Hermleigh's win bumped their record up to 21-2. As for Eula, with the loss, they broke their nine-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-5.

Hermleigh will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pirates: the pair will be back at it again later today.
